South Ostrobothnian food industry event in Seinäjoki

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences invited local companies to access current information and technology in the food sector.  The purpose of the event was to bring together operators from the entire food chain, with up-to-date food information and technology that will help companies to innovate and succeed.

Keynotes handled the following topics:

  • Juha Gröhn - Belief in South Ostrobothnian food production
    Juha cast faith in the future of sustainable food production. Gröhn has a long career at food company Atria and has seen many stages in Finnish food production.

  • Robert Nemlander - Sustainable and responsible food production in Southern Ostrobothnia
    What developments in sustainable and responsible food production are taking place in the world at the moment, which our province should be aware of and which we can take advantage of in the present moment.
    Robert Nemlander is an award-winning serial entrepreneur, construction engineer (M.Sc.), international speaker, former astronaut candidate, medical sergeant, futurist, investor and father. He was selected among the world's Top 100 Young Leaders in 2017 and 2018.

  • Suvi Luoma - How do consumers behave when shopping for food?

    Suvi knows the Finnish consumer and knows how we behave when shopping for food. What does the consumer focus on in the grocery store and how are choices made? Can an entrepreneur influence a consumer's purchasing decisions in any way?
    Suvi has over 20 years of experience in the research field and has carried out hundreds of customer projects for the food industry. Suvi is also familiar from the Finnish Success Recipe TV series, where she serves as one of the jury's esteemed expert members in food product development.

In addition to keynotes, the event had the opportunity to hear information of SeAMK's development projects and their results, which can be utilized in the company's operations and to network.
